The creativity of Bioshock Infinite's fanbase continues to astound as a talented fan with the help of two other artists creates the entire set of the game's Vigors in real life. Bioshock Infinite, the third entry in the series, features a set of eight Vigor tonics akin to the first two games' Plasmids, giving the user permanent access to a wide range of special abilities. Despite its popularity, the franchise hasn't seen any new official content for years, prompting the dedicated fanbase to fill in the gaps until the next release.
Each of the game's tonics comes in an extremely personalized bottle that's lavishly decorated based on the powers they give. From shooting crows out of the main character's hands to levitating enemies helplessly off the ground, the only thing more inventive than the abilities is the bottles themselves. Recently, one fan has taken up the challenge of recreating these bottles on a 1:1 scale, posting their progress as they go.
On June 30, Reddit user apochere has completed the full set of Vigor bottle recreations after a lot of hard work and motivation from other fans, finally releasing an image of all eight together online. In their last post, apochere had five of the bottles completed, leaving Charge, Possession, and Devil's Kiss to complete the full set of base game Vigors. Now all eight of the Vigors are together, each one its own work of art in a stunning photograph.
Aside from the Undertow Vigor sculpted by Hex3D, all of the bottles were modeled by a friend of apochere's, which they then 3D printed with resin and finished up by hand. According to the Reddit thread, these fan recreations are of noticeably better quality than even the official promotional bottles from the game's publisher 2K Games themselves. It's unclear whether apochere will move on to the Plasmids from Bioshock Infinite's two-part DLC Burial at Sea, but fans of their work are waiting for their next piece regardless.
Fans are still eagerly awaiting news about the future of the Bioshock franchise. A sequel has been confirmed but very little information is known about it, save for a job listing which seems to confirm that the game's setting will be open world. This would be a departure from the rest of the series, which has stuck to a much more linear format. Time will tell if the new game has any content worth memorializing as remarkably as these bottles have memorialized BioShock Infinite.
This is just one of the many projects this artist has created over the years and a clear indicator of what's possible when creative fans take their favorite media to the next level. Beautifully modeled and textured, these bottles are a stunning showcase of the talents of everyone involved. With the quality of each recreation, these expertly crafted bottles are even giving the originals in Bioshock Infinite a run for their money.
