Florita Diaz explained why she chose Jeremy Hershberg over Korey Gandy on Love Island USA season 3 and commented on Korey's relationship potential with Olivia Kaiser after the show. New girls Lei-Yen Rapp, Roxy Ahmad, and Florita were introduced to the Love Island villa on day 8. A lot of them went in wanting to pursue boys such as Josh Goldstein and Cinco, but things just didn't work out that way.
Instead, Lei-Yen and Roxy were quickly dumped from the villa on day 11, whereas Korey chose to couple up with Florita on Love Island USA. But just when Korey and Florita seemed to be hitting it off, a sudden attraction between Jeremy and Florita was born. Korey felt betrayed by Jeremy, who is his friend, all while trying to convince Florita to stay with him. In the end, Florita felt extremely conflicted about leaving Korey behind, but she did ultimately re-couple with Jeremy at the next re-coupling session.
Now that she's been outside the Love Island USA villa for some time, Florita Diaz is commenting on why she ultimately chose to be with Jeremy Hershberg over Korey Gandy. "I wanted to see who I had a stronger connection with," Florita explained via an Instagram Story (screenshots below). "I never actually closed the door on Korey, and the reason I had to choose Jeremy was because Korey was constantly around when Jeremy would try to talk to me." With some time, however, Florita did regret making that decision: "In the end, I realized my feelings were just stronger for Korey because I was constantly missing him while I was coupled up with Jeremy." Ultimately, Florita still cares about both of those guys.
Later, another fan asked Florita to share her thoughts on the relationship forming between Korey and Olivia Kaiser recently. The question was, "Do you think Olivia and Korey would stay together in the outside?" Florita gave a straightforward response, "Honestly no." Many fans have found this new relationship very odd given that Olivia and Korey had been living together in the villa for a full month and had never shared any indication that they liked each other. In turn, several eliminated islanders vouched for Olivia, claiming that she would never be able to fake a relationship for TV. Nonetheless, as of this writing, Korey appears to be all-in on new girl Bailey Marshall.
It is always interesting to hear former islanders sharing their experiences inside the Love Island USA villa given that they've gotten to know their co-stars much more deeply while filming. Florita seemed pretty confident in her response about Korey and Olivia's relationship, but only time will tell if those two will end up together after all.
