We Are OFK counted among one of the first titles shown during the recent PlayStation State of Play; set to arrive in 2022, this episodic adventure will allow players to experience the highs and lows of a virtual indie pop band. The game was originally announced at the 2020 Game Awards, where the band from the game, OFK, performed its first single - "Follow/Unfollow."
Hyper Light Drifter Co-Designer Teddy Dief is helping bring We Are OFK to life as Director. This seems a rather ambitious project, too, given that it aims to encapsulate a making-of-the-band-style interactive series, complete with the challenges of dating and paying rent in the pricey Los Angeles area. Developer Team OFK planned to launch the title in Spring 2021 on PC via Steam; evidently, things changed.
Today's State of Play presentation featured a few reveals, as well as new details about Little Devil Inside. One of those reveals was confirmation that We Are OFK will come to PS4 and PS5 consoles in 2022. Team OFK announced the PlayStation version in an incredibly clever way, with the stars all discussing PlayStation Blog posts, marketing practices, and so on in-game. If nothing else, interests were certainly piqued throughout We Are OFK's charming segment of the brief State of Play broadcast. Check out the full trailer in the video linked below:
As far as life simulation games go, We Are OFK could prove one of the more interesting offerings on the market. Of course, players won't be able to confirm as much until the game launches next year. When Team OFK intends to showcase the title again remains a mystery for the time being, yet its return to The Game Awards this year wouldn't come as much of a surprise given OFK's presence during the December 2020 show.
Today's State of Play stream revolved around several third-party titles that will come to PS4 and PS5 in the future. Thus, as the publisher noted ahead of time, first-party titles such as God of War: Ragnarök and Horizon: Forbidden West did not make an appearance. But at least the wait for these two titles is slowly drawing to a close. Aloy takes on the Forbidden West in February 2022. Kratos' next adventure presently lacks release details, though it's expected to land sometime next year.
We Are OFK is set to launch across PC via Steam, PS4, and PS5 on an unspecified date in 2022.
