Screen Rant has an exclusive clip from the bonus features of Rick & Morty: The Complete Fifth Season. The Adult Swim hit series hails from creators Justin Roiland (Solar Opposites) and Dan Harmon (Community) and is known for its mix of dark humor and sci-fi antics. Rick & Morty: The Complete Fifth Season is available now on DVD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray Steelbook.
The Emmy Award-winning Rick & Morty follows the adventures of sociopathic genius scientist Rick (voiced by Roiland) and his timid grandson Morty (also Roiland). The half-hour comedy sees Rick engaging in dangerous exploits and dragging along his family including daughter Beth (Sarah Chalke), her husband Jerry (Chris Parnell), and daughter Summer (Spencer Grammer).

The clip comes from the never-before-seen featurette - "Fighting Gravity": The Making of Season 5 and features Harmon, producer Steve Levy, and writer Jeff Loveness talking about creating Rick's backstory. Harmon talks about balancing the "one-off" energy of the show with creating a complex cannon that will please die-hard fans. Loveness says the writers are "cowards" if they don't tell Rick's backstory and let the show grow. See the video here:
