The 10 Marvel Actors Most Like Their MCU Characters | Screen Rant

Spider-Man: No Way Home showed fans that Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch were both born to play their respective Marvel heroes. While both are talented actors, Marvel has rarely, if ever, missed the mark with their casting choices as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther and more were all perfectly cast.

However, there is a difference between being able to play a character well and being "born to play" the role and embodying that character in real life. Some Avengers have now moved on to other projects outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in some cases, their passion projects outside of the movie world have mirrored their on-screen personalities, showing that these actors were indeed BORN to play their respective heroes.

Chris Evans embodied Captain America in many ways and from the get-go, became a fan favourite character in the MCU. Although Evans underwent an impressive physical transformation to play the character, it's not just Evans holding back a helicopter while filming Captain AmericaCivil War that makes him most like Cap.

After Avengers: Endgame and even while it was filming, Chris started working on his next venture, "A Starting Point." ASP is a platform where American citizens can go to learn about important political issues from both sides of the government from real officials, helping them make a decision and bringing transparency to important arguments. Much like Cap who spent his entire life doing what he thought was right, Evans is out in the world bringing important information to the American people in order for a more transparent and clear set of political agendas.

Chris Hemsworth had some of the best scenes and quotes in the MCU, not to mention his entrance in Wakanda after taking the full force of a star. But it's not just the character of Thor that has the strength of a god. Chris Hemsworth is known for going all out in the weights room when preparing for his roles and since 2019 he's been helping the world do the same.

Chris launched his fitness app "Centr" at the start of 2019 with workouts, meditations, meal plans and blogs to help users on their fitness journey. The app features workouts inspired by the training Chris uses to get in shape for the movies and comes with his team of personal trainers to match.

Tony Stark - everyone's favorite genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist - gave an unforgettable performance as Iron Man, one that will not be replaced in fans' minds for a very long time. After racking up an impressive pay check from Marvel Studios and being seen in many fancy cars, it was easy for fans to confuse photos of Downey in his off days, with Tony Stark himself.

However, it wasn't just the money and confidence that made him similar to the character. Downey was involved with many projects regarding technological advancement including hosting the Age of A.I. video series on YouTube that looked into how artificial intelligence technology was evolving and being a feature on the Audi e-Tron electric vehicle project. With the right finances, attitude and involvement with technology, RDJ continues to embody Tony Stark which is why he was a perfect fit for the character.

As one of the "science-bros," Bruce Banner's area of expertise was bio-organics and biochemistry and helped Tony with a number of projects including creating Vision. Ruffalo will be appearing in the upcoming She-Hulk TV series as either a human Bruce Banner, as he was at the end of Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings, or still Hulk-like as he was in the trailer. Until then, Mark Ruffalo often takes to Twitter to promote important environmental causes and has been an environmental activist for over a decade now.

Ruffalo's passion for the environment led him to star in Dark Waters in 2019, one of Ruffalo's best non-MCU movies, about DuPont and their range of Teflon-coated products that contained toxic chemicals that had been contaminating US water supplies and other goods for decades. Ruffalo continues to advocate the need for a strong focus on the environment and holding those accountable who are destroying it.

Tom Holland first appeared as Spider-Man in 2016's Captain America: Civil War as part of Team Iron Man, where fans got their first look at the new Peter Parker. Although the character and suit were largely CGI in the Airport battle, Tom Holland usually performed many of his own stunts. As a young boy, Holland became a trained gymnast and ballet dancer, which not only allowed him to move as freely and wildly as Spider-Man would but also how to convey emotion through his movements.

Generally, Tom Holland is also a positive, light-heated, fun individual just like Peter Parker, making him an ideal choice to play the character. Holland also has a reputation for having a big mouth and spoiling movies, which occurred fewer times than let on, which matches with his, and Spider-Man's, trait of not knowing when to stop talking.

First appearing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and then re-appearing in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney+, George Saint Pierre literally leapt into the scene as Batroc The Leaper in 2014. He managed to hold his own against Steve Rogers and got the upper hand on Sam Wilson in the final episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Known as one of the greatest fighters in Mixed Martial Arts history, George Saint Pierre made all of his leaps, bounds and fight sequences seem effortless on screen, even at almost 40 years old. His first victory was achieved at the age of 16, giving him over 20 years of experience in MMA. Batroc was killed during his latest appearance on Disney+ so likely won't be returning to the MCU any time soon.

It doesn't take much for fans to see the similarities between Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds. On many occasions, Ryan has been a hilariously funny guest on talk shows, press interviews and more. Reynolds did many other movies before Deadpool such as romantic comedies including Just Friends, The Change-Up and more. However, very few characters that Reynolds played mirrored his true personality as much as Deadpool did. Both are in great physical shape but also, both Reynolds and Wade Wilson always manage to quickly come up with a witty one-liner or reply.

Deadpool has become such a passion project for Reynolds after he spent a number of years trying to get the project green-lit, and reportedly leaking the trailer for the original film. This caused a storm online as comic book movie fans across the world screamed for the movie to be made. Two movies and a studio acquisition later and Deadpool has joined the MCU with all the other fan favorite Marvel heroes.

There's no doubt that Marvel Studios' Black Panther was a resounding success, critically, financially and emotionally. Chadwick Boseman brought life to the character of T'Challa and had many iconic moments from his character's first appearance in Captain America: Civil War, to his final appearance in Avengers: Endgame.

Chadwick was a real hero in many ways, from his inspiring speeches at every award show and university, to his gracious on-set energy, attested to by his Marvel co-stars. Boseman had even previously donated some of his movie earnings to Sienna Miller in order to bring her up to the same level of pay that he was on as he knew she was worth a larger offer than she was given by the studio. After winning the MTV Movie Award for "Best Superhero" Boseman invited James Shaw Jr, up on stage and gave him the reward instead. Shaw saved countless lives by taking down a gunman during a school shooting in Nashville. These are just a couple of ways in which Chadwick was a true superhero, one that will be dearly missed by fans around the world.
