Darkseid is Building A New Army of Unstoppable Villains

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Infinite Frontier #1!

Darkseid is building an unstoppable army to face off against DC Comics' greatest heroes. Apokolips' ruler, was re-introduced in his new and improved form during Infinite Frontier #0. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting further details about how he exactly plays into the new Infinite Frontier miniseries. The time has come as DC Comics sat down and interviewed writer Joshua Williamson, where he reveals quite a few big things about Darkseid's role in Infinite Frontier.

DC's next phase is coming as Infinite Frontier #1 kicks off their plans for this year and the next. Recently, Williamson confirmed that the Infinite Frontier miniseries is being considered as "Act One." It'll mark the start of Darkseid's plans as he puts everything in motion. "Act Two" will debut sometime later this year, while "Act Three" will conclude DC and Williamson's master plan later next year. Everything is being perfectly calculated and drawn out to create one of DC Comics' biggest crisis events ever.

In an interview with DC Comics, Joshua Williamson revealed that Darkseid is building an army. This is a big part of his moves as he prepares to conquer the Omniverse. In Infinite Frontier #1 by Joshua Williamson and Xermanico, Flash is captured by Darkseid and his new minion, Psycho-Pirate. Flash is being sent down a dark and inescapable path as he is forced to work with the two villains. At the end of the issue, Psycho-Pirate reveals that Darkseid is sending them to recruit someone. The identity of that person remains unknown, but they will be Darkseid's first member of his army.

Naturally, Darkseid's army will be mostly comprised of villains. However, there is a chance that they could do a similar thing that they did to Flash. Having Psycho-Pirate on his side, he is capable of controlling nearly anyone that he desires, villain or not. Darkseid knows which exact people he wants, now, it's just a matter of recruiting them. According to Williamson, Darkseid's army will "greatly impact the future of the DC Multiverse." His army is made up of extremely powerful beings, as it's implied that they can go toe to toe with DC's greatest heroes. One person that Darkseid will probably want is Roy Harper, who just became a Black Lantern. The extreme power that he holds would be enormously beneficial to Darkseid. It's entirely possible that Psycho-Pirate and Flash's first recruit is DC's new Black Lantern.

Even though Darkseid will remain in the background for most of Infinite Frontier's first act, he's still the big bad of the story. After amassing his army of superpowered beings, Darkseid will turn up in the flesh to take on DC's heroes who wish to stop him. Additionally, it's been teased that Darkseid is the ultimate version of himself, fully aware of all of his past lives. Taking the knowledge of his past mistakes, Darkseid will take full control of DC Comics' universe, unlike before in past crisis events.
