Carnage is Finally Breaking The One Rule of Marvel's Symbiotes

Carnage is Finally Breaking The One Rule of Marvel's Symbiotes

Warning: Spoilers for Carnage Forever #1!

For years, Marvel's symbiotes have needed a host to properly function as an efficient organism, but now Carnage has realized that he doesn't need anyone but himself! Cletus Kasady is no longer the host of Marvel’s meanest symbiote, and now that Carnage is fully and truly free, anything can happen.

Celebrating the character’s 30th anniversary, Carnage Forever #1 contains multiple stories about the crazed alien goo entity, with one, in particular, “Unmade In His Image,” by Ram V and Salvador Larroca, seeing Carnage breaking a steadfast rule of Marvel’s symbiote aliens. Recently losing Cletus Kasady as a host, Carnage has struck out on his own in the lead-up to his new series launching later this month, and he’s showing fans just how deadly he can be without a human dragging him down.

An extraterrestrial alien race known as the Klyntar, the symbiotes of the Marvel Universe have been kicking around for decades, made especially famous by the Spider-Man villain named Venom. And now with Carnage joining his King in Black brother as being one of the few symbiotes capable of surviving — and thriving — without a host, Carnage is becoming more than he’s ever been capable of before.

Infiltrating a prison where the Spider-Man rogue called Hydro-Man is kept, Carnage eventually reveals that he isn’t there to acquire a new host but to take his power from him. Saying, “I was with Cletus for so very long. I’ve only recently begun to understand the full extent of my own capabilities without my host. And I am curious to see just how far they can go,” Carnage tells fans that not only has he bucked the symbiote host rule, but is about to embark on a journey that will no doubt see him become a more powerful, brutal, deadly, unique — and above all else — independent being of unimaginable evil.

Much like how the bond between Marvel’s other iconic symbiote, Venom, and his host, Eddie Brock, has allowed Venom to develop differently compared to regular old symbiotes, Carnage has also surpassed his limits as an organism to become an independent pile of alien goo that can operate separately from his host in ways that other symbiotes simply can’t. And while it remains to be seen how similar Carnage sans Cletus will act and evolve in relation to Venom’s own journey as a semi-independent entity, the fact that he has broken the one rule of Marvel symbiotes is an impressive feat for a villain that might — as this issue’s title suggests — find a way to live forever without a host at all.

Symbiotes are a unique part of Spider-Man lore that have come into their own as an integral piece of the Marvel Universe, and with Carnage now a solo act, things just got even more interesting than usual. Carnage is back in a big way, so fans will have to stay tuned for his upcoming series to find out what he gets into next.

Animal Crossing's Brewster Spotted In A Real-Life Starbucks

Animal Crossing's Brewster Spotted In A Real-Life Starbucks

A lucky Animal Crossing fan had an unexpected real-life encounter with the series' beloved café owner Brewster. The coffee-loving pigeon was first introduced in 2005's Animal Crossing: Wild World, and since then he has become a staple of the social simulation series. While he was not included at launch, an Animal Crossing: New Horizons update added Brewster alongside his Roost café in November 2021.

Since their introduction in Animal Crossing: Wild World, Brewster and The Roost have received an ever-expanding role in Nintendo's wholesome series. Originally, players were able to visit the café to buy coffee and occasionally hear live music from the famous K.K. Slider. The Roost was made into an even more active social space in 2008's Animal Crossing: City Folk, which saw Villagers drop by for their own morning fuel, and New Leaf later allowed player to work at The Roost part-time. The importance of Brewster and his coffee led to frustration when he failed to appear in the series' newest installment, but Brewster joined Animal Crossing: New Horizons as part of the title's acclaimed 2.0 Update.

Reddit user bonbonribbons recently ran into Brewster at a real-life Starbucks coffee shop. The adorable illustration, no doubt drawn by one of the shop's talented baristas, sees the recognizable coffee connoisseur prepared to serve customers a hot cup of joe. A speech bubble is even drawn next to Brewster, which explains that a cup of coffee costs 200 Bells. While Starbucks is unlikely to really accept the Animal Crossing series' fictional currency, the illustration serves as a wonderful tribute to the beloved avian café keeper.

Animal Crossing fans and coffee drinkers alike are fond of Brewster, leading to the creation of many fan-made tributes in the character's honor. For example, an Animal Crossing fan's Brewster crochet lets the friendly feathered Villager sit inside an actual coffee mug. The adorable crochet perfectly captures the bird's spectacled eyes and green coloration, with the creation even making Brewster resemble one of Animal Crossing's decorative musical Gyroids. Brewster is known for providing Gyroids to loyal customers, making the similarity particularly ironic.

Whether he's found within Animal Crossing or in the real world, Brewster serves as a hero to dedicated coffee drinkers everywhere. The Starbucks visited by bonbonribbons has beautifully demonstrated this reverence through their exceptional drawing of The Roost's beloved owner. While 200 Bells for one cup of coffee seems steep, Brewster's brew is sure to invigorate any who drink it.

The 10 Marvel Actors Most Like Their MCU Characters | Screen Rant

The 10 Marvel Actors Most Like Their MCU Characters | Screen Rant

Spider-Man: No Way Home showed fans that Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch were both born to play their respective Marvel heroes. While both are talented actors, Marvel has rarely, if ever, missed the mark with their casting choices as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther and more were all perfectly cast.

RELATED: 10 Lord Of The Rings Actors Who Are Also In The MCU

However, there is a difference between being able to play a character well and being "born to play" the role and embodying that character in real life. Some Avengers have now moved on to other projects outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in some cases, their passion projects outside of the movie world have mirrored their on-screen personalities, showing that these actors were indeed BORN to play their respective heroes.

Chris Evans embodied Captain America in many ways and from the get-go, became a fan favourite character in the MCU. Although Evans underwent an impressive physical transformation to play the character, it's not just Evans holding back a helicopter while filming Captain AmericaCivil War that makes him most like Cap.

After Avengers: Endgame and even while it was filming, Chris started working on his next venture, "A Starting Point." ASP is a platform where American citizens can go to learn about important political issues from both sides of the government from real officials, helping them make a decision and bringing transparency to important arguments. Much like Cap who spent his entire life doing what he thought was right, Evans is out in the world bringing important information to the American people in order for a more transparent and clear set of political agendas.

Chris Hemsworth had some of the best scenes and quotes in the MCU, not to mention his entrance in Wakanda after taking the full force of a star. But it's not just the character of Thor that has the strength of a god. Chris Hemsworth is known for going all out in the weights room when preparing for his roles and since 2019 he's been helping the world do the same.

Chris launched his fitness app "Centr" at the start of 2019 with workouts, meditations, meal plans and blogs to help users on their fitness journey. The app features workouts inspired by the training Chris uses to get in shape for the movies and comes with his team of personal trainers to match.

Tony Stark - everyone's favorite genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist - gave an unforgettable performance as Iron Man, one that will not be replaced in fans' minds for a very long time. After racking up an impressive pay check from Marvel Studios and being seen in many fancy cars, it was easy for fans to confuse photos of Downey in his off days, with Tony Stark himself.

RELATED: 10 MCU Actors Fans Would Like To See Return, According To Reddit

However, it wasn't just the money and confidence that made him similar to the character. Downey was involved with many projects regarding technological advancement including hosting the Age of A.I. video series on YouTube that looked into how artificial intelligence technology was evolving and being a feature on the Audi e-Tron electric vehicle project. With the right finances, attitude and involvement with technology, RDJ continues to embody Tony Stark which is why he was a perfect fit for the character.

As one of the "science-bros," Bruce Banner's area of expertise was bio-organics and biochemistry and helped Tony with a number of projects including creating Vision. Ruffalo will be appearing in the upcoming She-Hulk TV series as either a human Bruce Banner, as he was at the end of Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings, or still Hulk-like as he was in the trailer. Until then, Mark Ruffalo often takes to Twitter to promote important environmental causes and has been an environmental activist for over a decade now.

Ruffalo's passion for the environment led him to star in Dark Waters in 2019, one of Ruffalo's best non-MCU movies, about DuPont and their range of Teflon-coated products that contained toxic chemicals that had been contaminating US water supplies and other goods for decades. Ruffalo continues to advocate the need for a strong focus on the environment and holding those accountable who are destroying it.

Tom Holland first appeared as Spider-Man in 2016's Captain America: Civil War as part of Team Iron Man, where fans got their first look at the new Peter Parker. Although the character and suit were largely CGI in the Airport battle, Tom Holland usually performed many of his own stunts. As a young boy, Holland became a trained gymnast and ballet dancer, which not only allowed him to move as freely and wildly as Spider-Man would but also how to convey emotion through his movements.

RELATED: 11 MCU Actors Who Have Been Getting Buzz For The 2022 Oscars

Generally, Tom Holland is also a positive, light-heated, fun individual just like Peter Parker, making him an ideal choice to play the character. Holland also has a reputation for having a big mouth and spoiling movies, which occurred fewer times than let on, which matches with his, and Spider-Man's, trait of not knowing when to stop talking.

First appearing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and then re-appearing in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney+, George Saint Pierre literally leapt into the scene as Batroc The Leaper in 2014. He managed to hold his own against Steve Rogers and got the upper hand on Sam Wilson in the final episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Known as one of the greatest fighters in Mixed Martial Arts history, George Saint Pierre made all of his leaps, bounds and fight sequences seem effortless on screen, even at almost 40 years old. His first victory was achieved at the age of 16, giving him over 20 years of experience in MMA. Batroc was killed during his latest appearance on Disney+ so likely won't be returning to the MCU any time soon.

It doesn't take much for fans to see the similarities between Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds. On many occasions, Ryan has been a hilariously funny guest on talk shows, press interviews and more. Reynolds did many other movies before Deadpool such as romantic comedies including Just Friends, The Change-Up and more. However, very few characters that Reynolds played mirrored his true personality as much as Deadpool did. Both are in great physical shape but also, both Reynolds and Wade Wilson always manage to quickly come up with a witty one-liner or reply.

Deadpool has become such a passion project for Reynolds after he spent a number of years trying to get the project green-lit, and reportedly leaking the trailer for the original film. This caused a storm online as comic book movie fans across the world screamed for the movie to be made. Two movies and a studio acquisition later and Deadpool has joined the MCU with all the other fan favorite Marvel heroes.

There's no doubt that Marvel Studios' Black Panther was a resounding success, critically, financially and emotionally. Chadwick Boseman brought life to the character of T'Challa and had many iconic moments from his character's first appearance in Captain America: Civil War, to his final appearance in Avengers: Endgame.

Chadwick was a real hero in many ways, from his inspiring speeches at every award show and university, to his gracious on-set energy, attested to by his Marvel co-stars. Boseman had even previously donated some of his movie earnings to Sienna Miller in order to bring her up to the same level of pay that he was on as he knew she was worth a larger offer than she was given by the studio. After winning the MTV Movie Award for "Best Superhero" Boseman invited James Shaw Jr, up on stage and gave him the reward instead. Shaw saved countless lives by taking down a gunman during a school shooting in Nashville. These are just a couple of ways in which Chadwick was a true superhero, one that will be dearly missed by fans around the world.

The Real Housewives: 10 Best Taglines Of 2021 | ScreenRant

The Real Housewives: 10 Best Taglines Of 2021 | ScreenRant

Luxurious lifestyles, intense drama, and family dynamics are all staples of The Real Housewives franchise that has expanded to over ten different cities across America. With eight current cities and the first international city on the way, the franchise that premiered in 2006, and acted as the basis for similar shows worldwide, is only growing larger and stronger.

RELATED: 10 Housewives Who Should Transfer Cities

One aspect of The Real Housewives fans love is the intro sequence. Each city has a similar intro with slightly different music and original taglines for each Housewife. Taglines showcase the individual Housewife's personality and usually give insights on what to expect from them during the season. Although what makes a tagline great is relative to opinion, some are unquestionably perfect for the woman they represent.

10 Ashley Darby

"The only thing messier than two boys is me."

Ashley has been bringing the drama since season one of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Unafraid to say what comes to mind, Ashley has proven to be a pot-stirrer and an essential part of the RHOP cast. While her time on the show has not been a breeze - keeping her open marriage quiet, one of the biggest secrets RHOP housewives kept, while her husband was constantly scrutinized - Ashley has grown throughout the years, with motherhood seemingly giving her a new outlook on life and what is truly important.

While she has matured, Ashley is still very aware of what her job entails. She continues to bring the drama needed for the show's success, making her season six tagline the perfect mix of her known personality and her new life as a mother.

9 Gizelle Bryant

"The secret to this pretty face is staying in the shade."

Gizelle is an OG of The Real Housewives of Potomac and is guaranteed to bring shade and humor. Her outspoken and never-back-down attitude always makes for intriguing television as she gives viewers everything they look for in a Housewife.

Gizelle's season six tagline perfectly sums up how Gizelle feels about herself, as well as how fans feel about her. Her unique tagline acts perfectly as a double meaning for her youthful looks and ability to throw shade.

8 Alexia Echevarria

"My life is like a movie, and the award for best drama goes to me."

Alexia first appeared in season one of The Real Housewives of Miami back in 2011. After moving into a friend role in season 2 to take time to care for her son, she returned in a full-time capacity for season 3. Eight years later, the self-proclaimed Cuban barbie returned for the revival. Alexia was considered a shoo-in for the revival as the drama surrounding her was integral to the success of the show.

Alexia's season 4 tagline is an excellent representation of what she brings to the season. From the heartbreaking death of her ex-husband to her new relationship troubles caused by her eldest son, her life is full of intriguing drama. Alexia easily wins the award for best drama and arguably brings more to the show than all of her castmates combined.

7 Heather Dubrow

"If you want to reach my standards, I'd suggest you get a ladder."

Heather made her debut on The Real Housewives of Orange County in season 7 and departed in season 11. After the recent cast shakeup, Heather returned for season 16, bringing her elegance and somewhat pretentious attitude back to the flailing city.

RELATED: 10 Former Real Housewives Who Would Be Perfect For Celebrity Big Brother

Heather's season 16 tagline sums up her personality wonderfully. It is obvious that she believes she is above everyone else and that they should strive to attain her level of standards. Although the tagline seems unoriginal, Heather's ability to bring a small amount of comedy to the line is unique to her uppity character.

6 Lisa Barlow

"You don't have to like me. I love myself enough for the both of us."

Lisa has appeared on both seasons of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and has instantly impacted the show. She has become an iconic character with her great one-liners and fantastic ability to stir the pot and keep the ball rolling when it comes to drama. Her recent hot mic moment mixed with Lisa's "I'm richer than all you b******" blowup secured her spot in the Housewives Hall of Fame.

Lisa's season 2 tagline is an excellent example of her personality. Since she has constantly received unwarranted attacks from her castmates as they believe her to be the villain of the series, Lisa's tagline says everything that makes her a favorite among fans. Her love for herself always outweighs the hate she receives.

5 Tiffany Moon

"I can save your life, but not your reputation."

Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Dallas introduced Dr. Tiffany Moon to the series. Although Tiffany was a quick fan favorite, RHOD was unfortunately put on an indefinite hiatus as the network determines how to move forward.

Tiffany's first and only tagline encapsulates her personality perfectly. She spent much of season 5 discussing her career and attempting to take more time for herself and her family while also going head to head with fellow castmates. Her tagline becomes even more relevant after the end of the season, with many cast members seemingly ruining their reputations with fans, all while Tiffany stands tall and remains popular.

4 Mia Thornton

"If you want to pop off with me, I'd be happy to get you adjusted."

Mia is first introduced in season 6 of The Real Housewives of Potomac and doesn't take long to make an impact. She immediately butts heads with Robyn and Gizelle, eventually gets into it with Ashley, and constantly has shade-throwing - and even salad throwing - confrontations with Candiace.

Mia's tagline has an excellent double meaning behind it. On one hand, she owns multiple chiropractic offices, allowing her tagline to quietly promote her businesses. On the other hand, she expresses that she is not afraid of confrontation and will quickly put someone in their place if needed. Mia was a welcoming fresh addition to the show, and fans hope to see her return for season 7.

3 Erika Girardi

"The strongest substance on Earth isn't diamonds, it's me."

Since appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in season 6, Erika is iconic for throwing ice in the form of cold expressions and a strong personality. While she has given great taglines in the past, most of her storylines revolved around her music or whatever the group storyline was during the season.

RELATED: One Quote From Each RHONJ Cast Member That Goes Against Her Personality

Erika's season 11 tagline is perfect, as she finally opens up and becomes vulnerable for the first time. With her marriage ending and her husband charged with frauding many of his clients, all victims of horrible crimes and tragedies, Erika is forced to answer tough questions as rumors and headlines of the Girardi's swirl. Erika continues to hide behind her strong personality but does show her powerless side, giving fans a lot to speculate over.

2 Teresa Giudice

"They say it's never too late to start over, I say starting over never tasted so good."

With eleven seasons and over twelve years under her belt, the OG of The Real Housewives of New JerseyTeresa has brought more to the show than any other housewife across the franchise. The family drama, her divorce, and going to prison for a year, Teresa's long list of fights and dramatic RHONJ moments ensure that has been and will always be the backbone of RHONJ.

Teresa's season 11 tagline sums up the welcoming new side that fans love to see. She has been through so much hardship, and fans were excited when Teresa announced she had a new love in her life, although they had many questions because their protective nature towards their New Jersey queen is strong. Teresa's tagline is all about starting over and being happy again, something that everyone can agree Teresa deserves.

1 Luann De Lesseps

"Of all my vices, being glamourous is one I'll never give up."

Luann has been on The Real Housewives of New York City since season 1 and, while she was demoted to a friend role in season 4, has been a mainstay for the series. Bringing hilarious one-liners and iconic moments, Lu started as a personality that viewers couldn't relate to but quickly turned into a favorite as many fans can't see RHONY without her.

Luann's season thirteen 13 tagline is an excellent encapsulation of where she is in her life currently. After giving up alcohol due to a drunken arrest and other off-camera incidents, Lu became a cabaret star and voice of reason among her castmates. Her tagline is perfect as she has proven that she is willing to give up alcohol but will never stop being glamorous, fabulous, and elegant as the Countess will also have class, even when she doesn't.

Top 10 Best Selling Nintendo Consoles | ScreenRant

Top 10 Best Selling Nintendo Consoles | ScreenRant

In their recent financial report, Nintendo revealed that the Nintendo Switch has shattered some incredible milestones. Not only did the Switch surpass the lifetime sales of the Nintendo Wii, but it is also the seventh video game console to cross 100 million units sold. It joins the illustrious group of the original PlayStation, the PlayStation 2, the PlayStation 4, the Nintendo Game Boy, the Nintendo DS, and the aforementioned Nintendo Wii.

RELATED: The 10 Best-Selling Game Consoles Of All Time

As we approach its five-year anniversary, the Switch's monumental success serves as a reminder of Nintendo's impact and reputation in the industry. For nearly 50 years, the company has been a leading figure in video games and its consoles are pillars in the lives of millions of gamers around the world.

10 GameCube - 21.74 million

In 2001, Nintendo released the GameCube in two of its largest markets: Japan in September and North America in November. Sold for $199.99, the Gamecube faced stiff competition from Sony's Playstation 2 and Microsoft's debut console, the Xbox. By the time Nintendo discontinued the console in 2007, the GameCube had been outsold by both of its competitors.

Although it ended the generation in last place, the GameCube still holds a special place in gaming history due to oddities like the usage of miniDVDs and its carrying handle. Audiences were first introduced to franchises like Pikmin and Animal Crossing but notable is the release of Super Smash Bros. Melee, a game that birthed a competitive fighting scene and is still popular today.

9 Nintendo 64 - 32.93 million

Nintendo entered the third dimension in 1996 with the release of the Nintendo 64 at $199.99.  This generation, Nintendo flew past its old rival Sega, selling more than three times as many units as the Sega Saturn. However, neither company could hold a candle to the popularity of the new kid in the market, Sony's PlayStation.

The Nintendo 64 is cherished by '90s kids everywhere due to its library of party games. Unlike its competitors, the ability to play with four players made instant classics of Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros., GoldenEye 007, and Perfect Dark. On top of that, games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the launch title Super Mario 64 stand as masterpieces whose influence is still felt in video games released today.

8 SNES/Super Famicom - 49.1 million

Released in Japan as the Super Famicom, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System brought Nintendo to the 16-bit generation. The SNES is best remembered for the fiery competitive spirit of its gaming generation. This time around, Nintendo faced a tough challenger in the Sega Genesis. Sega put up a tough fight but in the end, Nintendo stood tall as the victor.

The SNES refined the greatness of its predecessor to create masterpieces. Titles like Super Mario WorldThe Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Super Metroid are consistently touted as some of the greatest and most popular games ever made and are often cited for their influences on the platforming, top-down action-adventure, and Metroidvania genres, respectively.

7 NES/Famicom - 61.91 million

Having made a name for themselves in arcade games, Nintendo entered the home game market in 1983 with the Family Computer aka the Famicom. Two years later, the console was redesigned and rebranded for its US launch as the Nintendo Entertainment System. Fresh off the video game crash of 1983, the NES rescued the home video game console market in the US.

In reintroducing the world to video games, the NES established many of the familiar faces that define the art form. From iconic one-offs like Ice Climbers, and Duck Hunt, to early entries in the MarioLegend of Zelda, Punch-Outand Metroid franchises, the NES set the bar for high-quality software from Nintendo.

6 Nintendo 3DS Family - 75.94 million

A steep MSRP of $249.99 and the rise of mobile gaming gave the Nintendo 3DS a rough launch. But after a price cut, the 3DS slowly built to a huge success. The stereoscopic 3D was initially the selling point Nintendo would later release cheaper models without the feature. The 3DS family includes the 3DS XL, the 2DS, the New 3DS, and the New Nintendo 2DS XL.

RELATED: 10 Nintendo 3DS Games Everyone Should Try

The Nintendo 3DS rode high on the success of iterating on Nintendo's most beloved franchises. Standouts include Mario Kart 7New Super Mario Bros. 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, remakes of the two N64 Zelda gamesfour pairs of mainline Pokémon games, and a renewed interest in Fire Emblem with Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates.

5 Game Boy Advanced Family - 81.51 million

The Game Boy Advanced advanced Nintendo's handheld devices in 2001 by leveling up to a 32-bit system and switching to a landscape design. The console would receive two major redesigns. First, the Game Boy Advanced SP switched back to a portrait design and added a front-lit screen and a closing clamshell. This was followed by the Game Boy Micro, a more compact version of the original GBA.

RELATED: 10 Best GameBoy Advance Games Everyone Should Play

The GBA introduced the world to many of Nintendo's sub-franchises with WarioWare, Inc: Mega Microgames!, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Also notable are the ports of NES and SNES games with titles like Super Mario Advance and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

4 Nintendo Wii - 101.63 million

While the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 upgraded video games to high definition, Nintendo marched to the beat of its own drum. In 2006, Nintendo introduced the world to motion gaming with the release of the Wii. With the flashy gimmick of motion controls and the cheaper price point of $249.99, the Wii was a sensation unlike any other and eclipsed the success of its competitors.

The Nintendo Wii is best known for the phenomenon that is Wii Sports, Nintendo's best-selling game of all time. The Wii branding of casual games started its own franchise including Wii Sports Resort, Wii Play, Wii Party, and Wii Fit. Both Mario and Zelda received multiple mainline entries this generation and long-dormant franchises like Punch-Out! and Donkey Kong Country were revived.

3 Nintendo Switch - 103.54 million

After decades of splitting its resources and audience, Nintendo finally merged its home and handheld markets with the Nintendo Switch. Released in 2017 and fulfilling its promise of console-level gaming on the go, the console reignited the cultural passion for Nintendo. The Switch's herculean achievements include outselling every Nintendo home console and spending thirty-five nonconsecutive months as the best-selling console in the US (per GameInformer).

Many of the Switch's best-selling games are ports or repackages of the largely ignored Wii U catalog: Mario Kart 8 DeluxeBreath of the Wild,  New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. Franchises reached new heights of popularity in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Super Mario Odyssey.

2 Game Boy Family - 118.69 million

In 1989, Nintendo released its follow-up to the handheld market. Unlike the Game & Watch, which was limited to a single game per device, the Nintendo Game Boy allowed players to swap between games through its game cartridges. The console would release many revisions including the Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Light, and the Game Boy Color.

RELATED: 10 Game Boy Titles That Need To Come To The Switch

Game Boy owners can typically be categorized into two groups: those who were addicted to the pack-in game Tetris in 1989, and those who were addicted to the first-generation of pocket monsters in 1996's Pokemon Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow. Nintendo regulars received their first portable iterations in Super Mario LandDonkey Kong Land, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and Kirby's Dream Land.

1 Nintendo DS Family - 154.02 million

Released in 2004, the Nintendo DS innovated on the handheld system by adding several features now taken for granted including the ability to wirelessly connect with multiple systems, a built-in microphone, and playing with others over Wi-Fi. But the console is best remembered for its dual screens preserved by its clamshell design. With two screens, including the touch capabilities of the bottom, gamers were treated to a wealth of unique gaming experiences.

At the start of the DS's life cycle, Nintendo focused on the casual market with titles like Nintendogs and Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day!, and Big Brain Academy. The usual suspects are all here including Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing: Wild World, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, New Super Mario Bros., and four sets of mainline Pokemon games.

10 Lost Movies And How They Were Rediscovered | Screen Rant

10 Lost Movies And How They Were Rediscovered | Screen Rant

Thanks to the internet, it's impossible for movies to get lost. Decades ago, though, this was a real possibility. Since only physical copies were available, there were instances when certain movies simply disappeared. This was because they had either been destroyed or were stored in places not frequently checked.

RELATED: 10 Best Movie Genres You Definitely Never Heard of

A high percentage of lost movies have never been found, presumably because no one is actively looking for them. Luckily, copies of a few lost movies were located, several years or decades after they disappeared. And the manner in which these particular movies were found was, in many cases, quite fascinating.

The Passion Of Joan Of Arc is often thought of as one of the must-watch movies of the silent film era. The Carl Theodor Dreyer project chronicles the trial and execution of French saint, Joan Of Arc. The movie is known for its use of close-ups and for being filmed in only a single location.

Prior to the rediscovery, the last existing copy of The Passion of Joan Of Arc had been consumed in a fire and for many years, the movie was considered lost. This was such a shame, considering that the historical drama had drawn so much controversy, with even the Archbishop of Paris calling for its ban. Luckily, those who want to see what the fuss was all about can do so now. In 1981, a full cut of the movie was discovered in the Dikemark Mental Hospital in Oslo, Norway, as one of the employees was going through a janitor's closet.

Adapted from Kenneth Cook's similarly titled 1961 novel, the psychological thriller follows a teacher who loses all his morals after getting stranded in a strange town. Upon release, 15 minutes were cut because it was thought of as too graphic.

The discovery of Wake In Fright was somewhat of a disappointment since, for many years, it had gained a reputation as not only one of Australia's best movies but also a lost masterpiece that everyone enjoyed looking for. There was more excitement in searching for the movie rather than the desire to see it. And the search did come to an end in 2004 when producer Anthony Buckle found the negatives in a shipping container with the label "For Destruction." The container was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Events revolve around a well in a remote village that can heal the sick and make people more beautiful. Because of the powers, corrupt individuals try to control it.

Incubus was in many ways a unique film and its loss was considered a big blow. Not only was it one of few movies to ever be filmed in the constructed auxiliary language of Esperanto but it also came without subtitles, thus giving audiences the task of figuring things out on their own. Luckily, a copy was found at the Cinémathèque Française in Paris in 1996.

The Charlie Chaplin propaganda movie isn't considered one of the best classical movies about war but it sure is entertaining. It chronicles the German Zeppelin World War I attacks in Britain.

Some actors and filmmakers have such an incredible work ethic, releasing so many projects that some of their efforts go under the radar. Such was the case with Zepped, which many people didn't even know existed. That was until an English citizen bought a can of film on eBay for $5 back in 2009. That particular can happened to contain Zepped.

The earliest ever on-screen portrayal of Tarzan was a box-office success. Sadly, after dropping out of circulation, no copies could be found.

Some actors are defined by one particular role and that was the case for star James Pierce, who spent most of his life trying to find copies. Sadly, he couldn't fund them. However, all hope wasn't lost. In the '90s a stack of silent films was found inside a French asylum and one of them just so happened to be Tarzan And The Golden Lion.

Widely considered the greatest Australian silent film of all time, The Sentimental Bloke follows a man who vows to quit gambling so as to focus on his factory job. He falls in love with a woman and just as he is about to become happy, he faces competition for the same woman from another man.

After a fire destroyed a Melbourne film library, The Sentimental Bloke was considered a lost film. An original negative was then discovered in 1973 at a film archive in Rochester, New York. But why did it take so long to discover the greatest Australian silent film? Well, since 'bloke' isn't a popular word in America, someone assumed The Sentimental Bloke, relabeling it as The Sentimental Blonde.

A gang leader and his daughter decided to retire from the life of crime. But after the gang leader gets framed by a rival for murder, the daughter breaks bad once again.

Given the fact that it had Lon Chaney, one of the greatest stars of the Silent Film era, in the lead, it was a surprise that the original copies of Outside The Law got lost in the first place. Well, a Universal Pictures delivery person just so happened to have left some with his friends in the 1920s. It wasn't until 1975 that a house's new resident noticed a stash of old movies at his barn and invited historian Bob DeFlores to take a look at them. And one just so happened to be Outside The Law.

Twin sisters, one introverted and the other extroverted, compete for the love of the same man. Interestingly, the man doesn't know he is dating sisters. Alfred Hitchcock serves as an assistant director in the movie.

People are often unaware of the treasures they are lying on and such was the case with New Zealand collector Jack Murtagh. It would take 22 years for an American archivist to discover Murtagh's collection. And he realized that a videotape labeled as "Twin Sisters" by Murtaugh was actually The White Shadow.

The legendary Mary Pickford stars with her husband Owen Moore in the silent film about newlyweds arguing for the first time. Events strictly take place inside their house.

The gem somehow serves as a tutorial on how to handle marital arguments and those looking for such tips will be glad that it was eventually found. Credit goes to the carpenter Peter Massie who found a copy inside an old New Hampshire barn. The farm had previously served as a summer camp hence it's likely that the movie was filmed for the teenagers who spent time there.

A group of 5 travelers seeks shelter in a decaying house during a violent storm. While inside, they begin experiencing all kinds of horrors.

For many years, The Old Dark House was talked about as one of the first among the best gothic horror movies of all time but genre fans never got to experience its brilliance. Luckily, director Curtis Harrington found a clean copy while going through the vaults of Universal Studios. With a fresh budget, the movie was then re-edited and re-released.

Warzone Pacific (Season 2): Best STG44 Loadout | Screen Rant

Warzone Pacific (Season 2): Best STG44 Loadout | Screen Rant

Editor’s Note: A lawsuit has been filed against Activision Blizzard by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which alleges the company has engaged in abuse, discrimination, and retaliation against its female employees. Activision Blizzard has denied the allegations. The full details of the Activision Blizzard lawsuit (content warning: rape, suicide, abuse, harassment) are being updated as new information becomes available.

The STG44 loadout is one of the best that players can choose in Warzone Pacific Caldera: Season 2, and it's currently one of the most used weapons in the popular battle royale. The STG44 is an assault rifle with an impressive time-to-kill at great usability at a medium range before all attachments are added. Additionally, the assault rifle is one of the most accurate weapons in Warzone Pacific Caldera as well, and it's easy to build this weapon into a long-range gun.

Many new players and returning players may prefer to run the STG44 because it's a Call of Duty: Vanguard original weapon. This means that players can fully utilize the eight different attachments to further improve the weapon more than any Modern Warfare or Black Ops: Cold War weapon can be edited, in addition to choosing two-weapon perks. Additionally, since it can be built for long-range, it's best to pair the STG44 with an SMG in order to be more effective in close-range fights.

Although there were many changes to assault rifles at the beginning of Season 2, the STG44 received no changes to any of its base features. Fortunately, only the Incendiary ammo type was changed for all assault rifles, decreasing the base burn damage to 6 from 9 while no longer decreasing the damage range by 5%. However, plenty of changes have been made to other assault rifle loadouts in Warzone Pacific Caldera: Season 2, giving players a reason to either stick to or try out the STG44 for the first time.

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: VDD 760mm 05B
  • Optic: Krausnick ISO 2M
  • Stock: VDD 34s Weighted
  • Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled
  • Magazine: 8mm Kurz 60 Round Drum
  • Ammunition: Incendiary
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Perk 1: Vital
  • Perk 2: Fully Loaded

Even though the Incendiary ammo type was nerfed at the beginning of Season 2, it is still the best option for the STG44. In combination with the Vital Perk, players will be able to make the most of the ammo type regardless as they receive an increased hit zone for all enemy critical spots. Additionally, the 60 round drum magazine further assists players in making the most of any engagement with the STG44, particularly with its easy-to-control rate of fire.

With the rest of these attachments, the STG44 instantly becomes one of the best weapons in Warzone Pacific Caldera as they all help players control its accuracy in any long-range engagement more easily. Great weapons to pair the STG44 with are close-range weapons such as the MP40 or the Vanguard PPSh 41. Lastly, players who run the assault rifle an SMG should equip the Double Time, Overkill, and Amped perks, following up with a Ghost perk to replace the second perk in another loadout.

Darth Maul's 'Sith Legs' Become Their Own Villain in Star Wars Meme Art

Darth Maul's 'Sith Legs' Become Their Own Villain in Star Wars Meme Art

The “Sith legs” of Darth Maul have become their own villain in a popular Star Wars meme posted on Twitter. Strangely, Star Wars comics jokingly already introduced the concept of the sentient Sith legs, as imagined in the original artist’s depiction.

After Darth Maul was cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, he returned in The Clone Wars. Finding refuge in a junkyard, he managed to gain robotic legs. When he finally left the planet, he vowed to find Kenobi and take revenge. However, fan art imagines that the Sith’s lower half has a life of their own, with a similar mission.

In a popular meme posted on Twitter by @cortex0917, the legs of Darth Maul wield a red lightsaber, seeking revenge on Obi-Wan Kenobi, much like the top half of the Sith. The art was created by ScaryisGood who shared it to the subreddit, r/StarWars with the title, “So, since the top half of Maul was able to survive being cut in half, whose to say his bottom half couldn’t?”

Interestingly, the idea harkens back to humorous dialogue in Darth Maul: Death Sentence as featured in Clone Wars: Epic Collection Volume 2 (written by Tom Taylor with art by Bruno Redondo). In that story, the idea of Darth Maul's missing legs--equally lost, equally presumed dead, and equally deadly--is directly addressed, wondering if the Sith Lord actually knows if he is now two beings bent on revenge. Or, as the comic puts it, "Crazy Sith legs running around by themselves ready to deal out a good kicking?”

The fan art is reminiscent of the character designs first revealed for Star Wars: The High Republic, which introduced fans to new characters from the galaxy’s distant past who would soon appear in comics and other media. Maul’s independent legs echo the meme of “Geod,” the sentient rock companion that many fans mocked.

While the idea of Maul’s active Sith legs remains a fantasy, his reaction to the thought makes it seem like his own worst nightmare. Fans can imagine his haunted dreams, even after the Clone Wars era, as he remembers the part of himself that remains a Sith. As he goes onto lead the crime syndicate Crimson Dawn, there will always be a part of his past he struggles to reconcile. Somewhere in that junkyard are the legs of Darth Maul.

Tom Hiddleston Told Charlie Cox To Sneak Into No Way Home Screening

Tom Hiddleston Told Charlie Cox To Sneak Into No Way Home Screening

Tom Hiddleston encouraged Charlie Cox to attend a screening of Spider-Man: No Way Home to hear the audience react to his Daredevil cameo. Cox's MCU journey has been long and winding, and it seems like it's far from over. He first made his debut in the franchise with the Marvel Netflix show Daredevil, where he played lead character Matt Murdock. Cox was also one of the primary stars of The Defenders, a series that united all the leads of Marvel's Netflix library. However, despite immense fan support, the 2018 cancellation of Daredevil put Cox's future as the blind vigilante on hold.

Then, Spider-Man: No Way Home happened. Throughout the film's production and in the lead-up to its release, Cox was heavily rumored to make another appearance as Matt. Like Andrew Garfield, he denied it, but also like Garfield, there were leaks that hinted at his role. No Way Home then premiered in December and revealed Matt to be Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) lawyer for the aftermath of Mysterio's (Jake Gyllenhaal) reign of terror. Since then, Cox has confirmed he knows there's something new coming for Daredevil in the MCU, though it isn't yet clear what that something is.

Leaks aside, Cox's No Way Home Daredevil cameo was kept tightly under wraps before the film premiered. Cox himself was careful about who he told, though there was one person he was able to reach out to early on: Fellow MCU alum Tom Hiddleston. Speaking to ComicBook.com about his AMC+ series Kin, Cox revealed he called Hiddleston to discuss his No Way Home role. It was during that call when Hiddleston advised him to sneak into a screening so that he could enjoy the audience's reaction to his cameo. Cox said:

"One of my first phone calls, when I found out I was coming back, even though I was trying not to tell anyone, I was living in fear for two years of it being leaked, it was this big surprise. When I was on the set I was wearing the thing everywhere, blah, blah. One of my first phone calls, and I knew I could tell him because I also knew he knew, was Tom Hiddleston, he's one of my best friends.

"He said to me, and he was shooting Loki at the time, so he'd spoken to those guys, and he knew, and they knew we were friends, and all that stuff, so he knew about it. I spoke to him, and he said to me, 'Whatever you do, when the film comes out, you've got to sneak into the back of a theater, because it will go crazy.' And I remember thinking, 'No it won't.' It'll be nice to be there, but I think he's thinking what it would be like for Loki to appear in that moment, where the Loki fan base is unlike anything I've ever seen in my life."

Cox was eventually persuaded to slip into a Spider-Man: No Way Home showing, but it sadly didn't go the way others promised. Cox said the theater was dead quiet for his cameo, even though other showings had rapturous responses. It's a shame the experience wasn't as he had hoped, but hopefully now he can see that there are many Marvel fans who are happy he's back, even if they evidently weren't at that particular screening.

Though they are both MCU stars, Cox and Hiddleston occupy vastly different areas in the franchise. Interestingly, the two starred in the play Betrayal in 2019 alongside Zawe Ashton, who will make her own MCU debut next year in The Marvels. Hiddleston has season 2 of his Disney+ series Loki to look forward to, as well as a rumored role in May's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As for Cox, Spider-Man: No Way Home doesn't yet seem like the end of the line for him, but fans will have to wait and see exactly what is next.

RHOSLC: Jen Shah Spotted Hanging Out With Possible New Cast Member

RHOSLC: Jen Shah Spotted Hanging Out With Possible New Cast Member

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is expected to see a big cast shake-up for RHOSLC season 3. The ladies from the Utah-based Real Housewives franchise brought major drama to viewers on RHOSLC season 2, particularly with the arrest of cast member Jen Shah playing out on camera. Between Jen's federal charges and the other frenemies feuding on screen, RHOSLC season 2 was one for the Bravo history books. However, the show ran into scandal in recent months that left the RHOSLC season 3 cast up in the air.

Cast member Mary Cosby made waves when she ditched the reunion after a controversial run on RHOSLC season 2. In addition to sparring with most of the other Salt Lake City ladies, Mary ticked off viewers when she was seen in a number of episodes making racially insensitive remarks, notably about Vietnamese cast mate Jennie Nguyen. It seemed Mary backed out of the spotlight after viewers called for her to be held accountable for her words toward Jennie -- until it was exposed that Jennie made insensitive remarks of her own in old Facebook posts. Bravo promptly fired Jennie after her anti-Black posts resurfaced, leaving two big question marks in the cast. Now, Jen Shah and other cast regulars have been spotted with a potential RHOSLC newbie.

Jen Shah, Lisa Barlow and Meredith Marks looked buddy-buddy with potential new cast mate Angie Katsanevas in new Instagram photos. The RHOSLC fixtures appeared in ski gear next to Angie, who posted several selfies with the ladies to her Instagram Story. According to her page, Angie is a successful hairstylist and salon owner with a style that rivals the other gals from Park City. Interestingly, Jen, Lisa and Meredith didn't leave off on the best note when RHOSLC season 2 wrapped, so viewers are thinking their photographed hangout with Angie was meant for season 3 filming and not on their own accord.

Queens of Bravo on Instagram also pointed out that Angie revealed in 2019 that she had indeed auditioned to be a part of the original RHOSLC cast. "Did I make the cut for The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City you ask... The answer is No," Angie wrote at the time. Housewife Heather Gay wrote a positive comment on Angie's 2019 post, to which the possible season 3 star replied in part, "Thanks for setting up the interview. I wasn't being my funny self as I was to [sic] busy trying to be all down to biz."

With clear connections to current cast members and a seemingly aspirational lifestyle of her own, Angie appears to be worthy choice for RHOSLC season 3. Many fans' qualms with Bravo about Jennie's firing were related to production not vetting their casting choice well enough. If Angie is cast to appear on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, fans are hoping she won't have any upsetting skeletons in her closet.

Taika Waititi Explains The Differences Between Filming Thor 3 & 4

Taika Waititi Explains The Differences Between Filming Thor 3 & 4

Director Taika Waititi reveals the differences between filming Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder. After the success of his initial Marvel Studios film in 2017, the filmmaker is back for another project with Chris Hemsworth. Having now shot two MCU projects, Waititi compares his recent experience with his first one.

Announced during San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth solo film for Hemsworth's Avenger. Like the majority of Hollywood projects, the movie's release date and production start were delayed multiple times due to the coronavirus pandemic. Ultimately, the film was able to wrap up principal photography in Australia amidst strict lockdown rules. Plot specifics for the film are still scant at the moment, but certain elements of it have already been confirmed such as the debut of Jane Foster's (Natalie Portman) Mighty Thor and Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher as the primary antagonist.

Naturally, Waititi's lips are sealed with regard to narrative details about Thor: Love and Thunder, but he discusses if there are any differences between filming Thor: Ragnarok and its direct sequel in a new interview with The Playlist while promoting Our Flag Means Death. Surprisingly, the filmmaker says that the experiences were fairly the same. Read his full answer below:

“I don’t think there’s been any difference. I mean really, it’s a similar size and everything’s the same. There’s a few different actors, but the energy and the intention is all still the same.”

Waititi didn't talk about plot information for Thor: Love and Thunder, but it's interesting that he said that it's similar in size to Thor: Ragnarok. Based on what little is known about the upcoming Marvel Studios movie, it seems to be bigger in terms of both story and cast. Aside from its principal characters, Thor 4 is also set to include several Guardians of the Galaxy members and Russell Crowe's Zeus. Additionally, it will see Lady Sif's (Jamie Alexander) return as well, who has been missing in action in the MCU for several years now. But perhaps Waititi was referring to his approach to the project, meaning he took it on the same way he did with Thor: Ragnarok. In any case, considering the success of the 2017 blockbuster, it's safe to say that the director had a good amount of creative control over his next collaboration with Hemsworth.

Currently, fans are still waiting for the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, so it's difficult to predict what to expect from the film. Marvel Studios is busy pushing for both Moon Knight and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which are slated to release before Waititi's next MCU film. But based on the franchise's marketing trend, it's safe to say that promotional materials for the movie are coming soon, especially with tie-in merchandise revealing Thor and Mighty Thor's costumes have already been released.
